Mr. Hesham Abdulla Al QassimMember of the Board of Directors
H.E. Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim is a Member of Amlak Finance’s Board of Directors. He is also the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for wasl Asset Management Group, where he is responsible for restructuring and developing a clear mechanism for the Group’s provision of high quality services. Under his leadership, wasl has achieved remarkable success in the management and ownership of large-scale real estate projects undertaken for the Dubai Government.
In addition to his current roles, Mr. Al Qassim is also a Board Member of Dubai International Financial Centre Authority, Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, DIFC Investments LLC., National General Insurance Co., Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, the International Humanitarian City, Pak Telecom Mobile Ltd and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited. He also holds a number of Chairmanship roles, including Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC, Chairman of Emirates Islamic, Emirates NBD Egypt SAE and Emirates NBD Capital KSA, Chairman of the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, Dubai Sports Corporation and the Vice Chairman of Dubai Autism Centre.
Prior to joining Wasl, Mr. Al Qassim held senior roles at National Bank of Dubai. In his position as General Manager at the Bank, he was an architect for new strategies in retail and corporate banking as well as treasury and trade finance. His innovations led the bank to become a leading financial institution in the United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Al Qassim is also an advocate for recognizing and developing local talent. He is committed to nurturing home-grown skills and, in line with this, is one of the founders of the Young Arab Leaders Organization.
Mr. Al Qassim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance and a Master’s Degree in International Business Management and Executive Leadership Development from the University of Wollongong Dubai.
